Music Therapist Board Certified Founder, Owner BIO Julia is the founder of Therapeutic Melodies. She completed her undergraduate work in music therapy at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO in 2013. She finished her internship at NeuroRhythm in Colorado Springs and afterwards received her Bachelor’s of Music in Music Therapy degree in 2014. After she received her degree she passed the national board certification exam and began Therapeutic Melodies soon after. She has experience with multiple populations and diagnoses. These include children with a wide range of developmental disabilities in a clinical, school, and care-taking setting, older adults in a nursing home, adults in substance abuse recovery, and children in a school and clinical setting who have experienced trauma. Julia loves serving and helping others. Her main instrument is her voice; she has sung in choirs for 20 years, participated in multiple musicals, operas, and competitions, and has received private lessons for 10 years. She has also played the guitar for 10 years, the piano for a total of 15 years, and the autoharp for 10 years. Julia plans to further her training by attending the Neurologic Music Therapy Institute. She is fully dedicated to her clients and seeks to help them reach their full potential through the vessel of music. |
Ashley Eckroth, MT-BC
Music Therapist Board Certified BIO In 2016, Ashley ventured out from North Dakota to pursue a degree in Music therapy at Colorado State University. After finishing her coursework, she moved on to complete an internship at Metro Music Therapy, serving the greater Denver area, where she gained experience working with a variety of populations including: developmental and intellectual disabilities, TBI, and mental health. After completing her internship, she received her Bachelors of Arts in Music Therapy. Soon after, she passed her board exam receiving her certification to practice music therapy nationally. Ashley’s main instrument is voice, which she has passionately studied for over 15 years, both through private lessons and numerous choirs. Through her studies, she also found her love for guitar and piano, both of which she has over 8 years of playing and performing experience. In the future, Ashley intends on receiving her licensure with Music Together in Therapy, to teach future group classes. She is excited to bring her passion for helping others through music in a community that has become her home. |
